Ysgol Gyfun y Strade was established in 1977 as a mixed bilingual comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18.
The school is committed to maintaining and raising the standards of pupils’ work and behaviour, and to promote Welsh medium education in a bilingual community. The annual school development plan and improvement targets directly relate to these aims.
Staff and pupils at Strade work enthusiastically to uphold the school’s motto …
“Nid da lle gellir gwell”
School Production – Yma o Hyd
Here in Llanelli, rugby fans are used to hearing ‘Yma o Hyd’ sung at Parc y Scarlets, and Dafydd Iwan’s voice has been very familiar to fans of the oval ball for years! But recently, since the Welsh football team adopted the song as its second national anthem, Dafydd Iwan’s voice and face has become well known to a new generation of Welsh people, and even internationally. Ysgol y Strade is delighted to present this new show to celebrate the history and music of an iconic patriot. We thank Dafydd for his permission and seal of approval. Diolch!
